4. The Coffin

It certainly looks ominous.  The rationalist explanation is that it is a standard council toolbox for working bee equipment.  But everyone knows the Monday weeders now work 24×7, so they never need to return tools – and in fact only recently re-exposed the box when a major “Wandering Creeper” infestation to the north of the Laurel Grove bridge was eradicated.

The reality is the box is very secure – who knows what is kept safely inside?   Sometimes a sudden drop of temperature and increase in humidity occur there…  It should also be noted, the sighting of the mermaid was also nearby…

BTW – we are not allowed to reveal the sites of the alleged murders in the park…

Prior to 1981, similar to many other sections of the Creeklands, horses were agisted in this area.  There was a particularly cranky horse that would chase anyone, but particularly blackberry pickers. It had a stall down by the creek edge.  Blackberry weeds have largely been eliminated from the park – though new infestations still occur.
