Working Bee – Sunday, 4th September

We need to stop weeds swamping our young plants on the north side of the creek between Laurel Grove North and Main Street so they can establish themselves before the heat of summer.

Time: 09:00 – midday.  Morning tea provided at about 10:30.  Please join us for a cuppa anyway if you are unable to work with us on the day.

If you can’t make it either way, please consider the“Bushcare Major Day Out”  events on the next weekend – Saturday 11th September at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary (10AM-12PM)  or Below the Lake (2-4PM).

Location: on the north side of the creek between Laurel Grove North and Main Street.

Planned activities:  Weeding and more weeding.

Clothing:  We recommend sensible clothes for both the weather and the work – long sleeved shirts, long trousers, gloves, hats and work boots.  You might also like to consider kneelers or knee pads.

Training/knowledge:  None needed – experienced volunteers will be available to help in weed identification.

Tools:  Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own to make ours go further or to suit your working preferences.  Useful tools are hoes, weeders like “daisy diggers”, weed bins/buckets, garden gloves and wheelbarrows.

Refreshments:   Although we provide both tea and coffee (and a bikkie if you work hard), you’ll need to bring your own drinking water or energy drink.
