Getting on top of Park Maintenance – Furness Park

Our September community Working Bee is planned for Sunday, 13th September 09:00-12:00 in Furness Park to the east of the Heath Street playground.

Time: 09:00 – midday.  Morning tea: about 10:30.

Location: Kunzea Korner:

Kunzea Korner

Planned activities: Work will consist mostly of weeding and mulching to maintain a previously planted area.

Clothing: We recommend sensible clothes for both the weather and the work – long sleeved shirts, long trousers, gloves, hats and work boots. You might also like to consider kneelers or knee pads.  Dust masks are needed for those handling mulch.

Training/knowledge: None needed – experienced volunteers will be available to help in identifying the weeds to remove.

Tools: Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own to make ours go further or to suit your working preferences. Useful tools are hoes, trowels, daisy diggers and garden gloves.

Parking: Parking is usually available in Heath Street.

If you’re unable to work with us on the day, please join us for a cuppa anyway – at about 10:30.
