Once again, we were blessed with a lovely morning (albeit having a frosty start) for our community Working Bee on Sunday, 7th July 2013. Several members of the local community augmented the “usual suspects” to make substantial further progress in rehabilitating one of the most neglected parts of the park on the land adjacent to 60 Main Street.
This photo shows the group enjoying a well-earned cuppa and celebratory scones during tea-break:
Work consisted of carefully weeding the creek-side of the current path – removing blackberries, introduced grasses, deadly nightshade and ivy. Good reason to celebrate was that a small number of canopy trees were planted on the site – the first for more than thirty years!
